The United Way of the Midlands started in 1925 as the Community Chest. Their mission is to unite people and resources to improve the quality of life. After a renovation and move to the new Blanding Street location in Downtown Columbia, the need for art to represent their story and work came together through connecting to the United Way's Partner Agencies: Midlands Reading Consortium, Transitions, Vital Connections, and Well Partners. All art links to each of those locations and is printed with UV cured inks on clear acrylic. The lobby art is a timeline created from historic documents, logos, newspaper clippings, and photographs from 1925 to present.
