The peculiar odors and eerie lights of the dark room are a siren song to Harvey. The daughter of a photographer, she stood jiggling photographic paper in trays of developer as a child too short to see the magical process without climbing up on a step stool. One of her favorite science projects as a child was a “camera” her dad helped her build. Although it has been decades since she served as a young darkroom assistant, she never lost her love of photography. McLean and her travel the world with never less than two cameras. They love to capture images of people and nature, but always take time to put the cameras down and relish the moments of discovery with all their senses.
