Updated: Jun 8, 2023

This is the Penny & Lucy Lou Art eBlast series that showcases our clients (the Interior Designers) that are hard at work making sure our art fits in the space and is appealing to their client(s). Enjoy and share in our excitement by walking in our shoes viewing the newest installation of Penny & Lucy Lou Art.

(3) of (9) custom created leaves of Virginia State Trees for senior living public space. Originals were drawn by Pen & Ink and custom colored to coordinate with floating acrylic mobile leaves in center of stairwell.

What was the easiest part about working with Penny and Pam from Penny & Lucy Lou Art for your Art projects at Cedarfield? Hardest part?

Penny & Pam’s ability to listen to our requests and quickly identify our vision is something that can’t be matched, its what makes working with them so seamless. If we were to describe a difficulty that comes with working with them, it would be that we can’t find enough opportunities to bring them in, on our projects.

What was the inspiration for the Leaves for the Stairwell?

The Cedarfield community was looking to identify with something that was native to Virginia, The mobile that was developed by DSI helped solidify the design direction to use leaves, but Penny and her team made the connection relatable by providing the artwork that supplied the context for the Mobile, Without the custom acrylic panels the Mobile would be nothing more than eye candy.

James River Bridge? The James River Bridge landscape was something that connected the building to its local roots. The DSI worked together with Penny and her team to create more than another piece of art, but something that was warm and relatable, and truly custom.

What stood out to you about Penny & Lucy Lou Art vs. other art lines? What made you decide to use us?

Penny inspired us simply put. The work stood for itself but her passion stood taller. Her quick response time and eagerness to satisfy is much appreciated and is what now has our team specifying Penny & Lucy Lou Art any chance we can.

At entrance on first floor, (6) of (9) total leaves printed with UV cured inks on clear acrylic carry the design and significance of the natural trees to Virginia throughout the public space.

Photographing location-specific and / or historically significant architecture, like the James River Bridge (above) in Richmond, Virginia, is just one more way Penny & Lucy Lou Art shows you more how #wedefinecustom.
